Dental care in the United States is delivered mostly by private practices: a general or family dentist who handles exams, cleanings, fillings and crowns, and refers out anything that needs a specialist. Group practices and dental clinics put several dentists, hygienists and sometimes specialists under one roof, often with evening and Saturday hours. Most offices ask new patients for a comprehensive exam with X-rays before routine cleanings, which the American Dental Association recommends every six months. Prices are set by each practice, and most accept dental insurance (PPO plans more widely than HMO ones), CareCredit-style financing or an in-house membership plan for people without coverage. Emergency dental services take same-day patients for toothaches, broken teeth and abscesses, usually at a premium.

The business lists hours on 4 days of the week. On most of those days it is open 8 am–5 pm. Note that it does not open on Friday, Saturday, Sunday. Traverse City is in Michigan, in the Midwest, where summers are warm, winters are cold and snowy, and most errands are done by car; businesses keep steady year-round hours with the usual holiday changes. Getting around Traverse City is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. I can not recommend this dental practice to anyone. My wife attempted to make an appointment with this office for a month and never received a call back. She stopped in today to make an appointment and the office staff were incredibly rude, confrontational, and condescending. My wife is told the office is "short-staffed", yet I can find no job listings on their website or any other. That sounds less like "short-staffed" and more like "maximizing profit". My wife was told they don't treat children over 10 yet their website states they treat teenagers. Clearly an office that values money over customer service and their patients suffer for it, based on our experience and other reviews I've seen. I'll be filing a complaint with the state Licensing and Regulatory Agency due to the overt deception. If more people took this step with medical offices they wouldn't all treat their patients like cattle.

This is the best experience a parent could ask for for their children. The entire staff have been amazing. The administration staff is the best I've encountered with dentistry. Every question has been answered. The bar is set high now.

Dr Jamie is patient and great with my neurodivergent kids. The whole staff genuinely loves kids and it shows in their care.

We can’t say enough good things about Dr. Brandon and NMPD. We have had regular appointments and an emergency next-day appointment for our toddler and every visit has been professional, caring, and comfortable for both parents and kids! I would highly recommend NMPD.

Took my daughter here on recommendation from our dentist because she had a traumatic experience at previous dentistry. We came in for a filling. I paid the 40 out of pocket for the laughing gas because I really did not want another traumatic experience for my 5 year old. Unfortunately this experience was way more traumatic and they didn't even extract a tooth like the experience she had. She cried the entire time and was told she needed to be still because the hard part was over (numbing) and that if she didn't then she'd have to get numbed again. So when kids are melting down they cannot understand reason. Why couldn't she have a few moments to breathe and calm down. Anyway when I went to check out found out it was more than what I was originally told. The next day my daughter's face was so swollen we went to urgent care (25 hours after the filling). Antibiotics and pain meds to treat the symptoms. Five days after that went to our regular doctor and more antibiotics. If pain continues was told to call the dentist as it could be something with her nerves. Then to top off the experience I received a nice letter stating if we didn't pay in full 2 more times they would dro
